London Stansted Airport PA/VA
Acoustic design for the new PA/VA system across the entirety of the major international airport.
Adam provided the acoustic analysis and design of the full-scale replacement PA/VA system throughout London Stansted Airport, including: the Main Terminal, APV Building and all three Satellite buildings.
3D acoustic models across the entirety of the buildings were developed in order to establish the expected speech intelligibility performance of the new PA/VA systems. Recommendations were made as to the specification, placement, orientation, and relative levels (or tappings) of loudspeakers were given. Advice was also given for the introduction of additional room acoustic treatment/screening measures where necessary. Extensive acoustic commissioning was also undertaken to demonstrate compliance with performance targets.
The experience Adam gained in developing the vast acoustic models, including the processing of point cloud data and accurately analysing the output from hundreds of loudspeakers, is a valuable knowledge asset of Suono.
